“… Like an Electric Ham Sandwich” is an homage to a famous Frank Zappa quote in which, when discussing electric guitar tone with Steve Vai, he declared “you know, Steve, I think you're a really good musician but your tone sounds like an electric ham sandwich.” The absurdity of this quote fit the character of the opportunity to write a piece for ~Nois, in which I strove to string together humorous, crass, and absurd sounds into a tour-de-force of the saxophone quartet.
